Paul Artspace: 5 Years with a special curatorial project by HATSH
August 25 – December 1, 2018
The exhibition curated by Mike Behle and Jessi Cerutti features a selected overview of the over 80 international, national, regional and local artists who have had residencies at Paul Artspace over the past five years. This program is complimented by a special curatorial project, Urban Bridge, curated by Emma Vidal of HATSH. Urban Bridge is designed to bring together French artists from HATSH and St. Louis artists on the common theme of urban landscape.
Paul Artspace is a residency program based in St. Louis, Missouri that offers living and studio space for local, national, and international artists, writers, and curators. Through providing time and space, Paul Artspace promotes thoughtful discourse and artistic exchanges within the greater cultural community.
Paul Artspace serves as a platform for creative exchange and impact. It is located on a beautiful and serene six acres in north St. Louis County. Since opening in July 2013, Paul Artspace has hosted more than 80 local, national, and international artists, writers, and curators in various stages of their careers. Selected applicants are provided housing and studio space for a period of 1 to 3 months. Residents enjoy a private room, private studio space, communal kitchen and bath, and access to the tool room, wood shop, library, and etching press. The facilities at Paul Artspace permit for up to 3 individuals to work and live on the property, and this scheduling occurs on a rolling basis.
The Paul Artspace and HATSH artists/residents to be featured in the exhibition are: Hélène Baril, Lauren Cardenas, Carl Giffney, Carrie Gillen, Wendy Huynh,
