Exposure 21: Three Myths

Gallery 210 is pleased to open the fall season with Exposure 21:Three Myths.The exhibition features new work by St. Louis based artists Julia Curran, Lola Ogbara , and Emma Vidal opens on August 29th. The theme for “Exposure 21 is Three Myths. The exhibition features the artwork of Julia Curran, Lola Ogbara and Emma Vida. Curran seeks to works to expose and deconstruct the stories the myths we have of our society and ourselves, we bringing a more feminine perspectives into contemporary dialogue. Ogbara’s artwork looks to the in the intersections of Blackness, queerness, and womanhood as a way to process the circumstances situated within these identities whether occurring in the past, present, or future. Vidal’s addresses the beginning of collective human history, the future of humankind, and largely influenced by myths, history and literature.
Exposure 21: Three Myths is the latest in a series of group exhibitions designed to feature artists who live and work in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The Exposure series originated with the St. Louis Art Gallery Association in the late 1990s and was housed at Hunt Gallery on the campus of Webster University. Gallery 210 took ownership of the series in 2005 with Exposure 8. Since then, it has become one of the Gallery’s most anticipated programs.

This exhibition is made possible by the Missouri Arts Council, the Center for the Humanities, and the College of Arts and Sciences at UMSL.

Public parking for Gallery 210 is available at the South Millennium Parking Garage on the east side of East Drive on the UM-St. Louis Campus. Handicapped parking is available behind Gallery 210.

Gallery 210 is on the University of Missouri-St. Louis at 44 Arnold Grobman Drive between the North UM-St. Louis Metro Station and the Touhill Performing Arts Center.
